1- THE WISDOM OF YOGA: PATANJALI'S SUTRAS & MEDITATION
with Lisa Gibson and Robbie Chesick

DATES: 7 Thursdays, 16 October - 4 December, 2008 (no class November 13th)
TIME: 7.45 - 9.15 PM
PRICE: $150 (sliding scale available)

This fall, we are happy to be offering a seven session course on the wisdom and meditation teachings of Yoga. You are invited to indulge your soulful mind with teachers Lisa Gibson and Robbie Chesick as we explore some of Yoga's practical guidelines for unfolding a sense of inner freedom and contentment.

In this course we will focus on:
  • The practice of Yogic meditation
  • Principles of Yogic philosophy as expounded in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras
  • How chanting & the Sanskrit language enrich the experience of yoga
  • How the path of knowledge (jnana yoga) and meditation (raja yoga) are relevant and practical pursuits for living in the stress of modern life with our limited, often discontented human minds.
The class is designed to be a safe, nurturing environment where discussion is encouraged. The sessions will benefit those who want to deepen their understanding of Yoga beyond the mat, those who don't do Yoga on a mat, and those who simply want to learn more about themselves beyond the bone and sinew of it all...
